Concord's Head of School

Dear Members of the Concord Community,
The CCS School Board and Executive Team are excited to share that Donald E. Snider, Jr. has accepted the Interim Head of School position, effective July 16, 2018. We give all praises to God for His provision. It is imperative that a godly individual fill this leadership role. We understand that God is the head of our school and our ability to have Him so openly present in our school is what makes Concord an outstanding place.

We want to thank each of the Concord families and staff for praying. It is a true answer to prayer that opened the door for Mr. Snider to come to CCS. Our Executive Team and School Board came together over a busy summer holiday period and unanimously agreed that Mr. Snider is a gifted leader who is uniquely qualified and experienced to help move CCS forward. We are grateful to have a team of quality leaders and exceptional teachers. We believe that the magic happens in the classroom and Mr. Snider recognizes the value of the teacher relationship with their students.

With Mr. Snider stepping into the Interim Head of School position, Concord continues to create a buzz of excitement in our community. Mr. Snider previously led the Christian Academy of Knoxville High School as Principal for 16 years and in a dual role as Principal and Assistant Head of School for the past six years. He is a lifetime Christian school educator with 31+ years of experience in both independent and church-sponsored schools. Donald and Marcy Snider have been married for almost 32 years. Their family has attended Fellowship Church for the last fifteen years. Donald was raised in a Christian home and he accepted Christ in February of 1980. The Sniders have two daughters: Mackenzie, 24, is currently serving in Spain with TEAM, where she is teaching ESL. She will return to the states in August to work on her Master’s Degree. Haley, 21, is a junior at UT and in her spare time plays on the UT Quidditch team and volunteers at Hoof and Harness Equine Therapy stables in Strawberry Plains.

One of Mr. Snider’s main goals in his new role is to promote a K-12 concept across school divisions leading to a flawless transition from one division to the next. He understands that the teaching faculty is the most valuable asset a school can offer and he plans to invest time and energy working with the teaching faculty and staff, promoting best practices in curriculum and instruction. Another goal of his will be to lead the board, faculty, and staff in the development of a new strategic plan moving forward. Mr. Snider will continue to promote Concord Christian School/Preschool and KidzConnect in the local community as an excellent option for their children's Christian Education.

Great things are ahead for Concord. Throughout this summer, our incredible team has been working hard to prepare for an outstanding 2018 - 2019 school year. We have awesome things to celebrate at the Back to School Kick Off on Friday, August 3rd and look forward to seeing you there!
