2017-2018 High School Theatre Opportunities

Production Lab:

High School Production Lab is an advanced course for students who have been in a production at CCS or a previous school OR who have taken Showcase class in Middle School. Production Lab will produce a One-Act play. Last year, this class produced “Selfie” & “Redeemed.” This will be a 45 minute, one semester class. Auditions for the One-Act and rehearsals will take place in class. This class is at the end of the day and rehearsals will be extended after school for tech/dress week. Performances will take place after school. Students must commit to the extended rehearsals and to the after-school performance in order to take the class.

Production Description: Title has not been confirmed yet. It will be a dramatic piece that will stretch all of us!

Potential Dates of Performance: Nov 30th & Dec 1st 6pm call time, 7pm show time

*Hoping to do one performance exclusively for CCS Middle School*

Potential Extended Rehearsal Dates/Times:

Monday Nov 27th 3:30-6:30pm (At the latest)

TN Thespian Conference: January 12 & 13th


High School theatre students from all over TN converge on this amazing conference at Middle TN State University. Over 250 acting, design, writing, and tech-theatre classes are offered in one weekend. Juniors & Seniors may audition for 10-12 colleges in one room. Seniors may audition for various theatrical scholarships. Stay tuned for more details!


Disney: Spring Break!

Production Lab students have the amazing opportunity to take an acting class with Disney actors on a Disney stage as well as to explore the parks! CCS Band students will also attend this trip. See the attached letter from Mr. Stephens if you are interested as payments are due starting in June. Contact Mr. Stephens with any questions and to return your commitment forms.


2017/2018 Middle School Theatre Opportunities

Showcase Class:

Showcase Class is an advanced performance class for 7th & 8th Graders. Students must have taken Theatre Arts 101 or have been involved in a production at CCS or a previous school to take this class. 10-15 Students per class. Students will rehearse in class and perform a show after school. Some after school rehearsals will be required leading up to the performance. Students must commit to these rehearsals in order to be a part of the class.


Potential Christmas Showcase to Be Performed: “The Merrie Christmas Show” “The Merrie Christmas Show” utilizes a traveling group of Renaissance-era actors to tell stories from Christmas past and reflect on how they impact Christmas present. Students will write additional pieces that reflect on the true story of how Christmas began.

Potential Date of Performance: Dec 15th 6pm Call Time, 7pm Show Time

Potential Dates of After School Rehearsals:

Tuesday Dec 11th 3:30-6:30pm

Thursday December 14th 3:30-6:30pm





2017/2018 Combined Middle & High School Opportunities:

Spring Production:

In January, 6th-12th grade will have the opportunity to audition for a full-length play. The title will be announced at the beginning of the school year. This will be a family friendly production that audiences will already be familiar with. Auditions and rehearsals will take place after school.


Potential Audition Dates: Week of January 8th-12th

Rehearsal Times: Starting the week of January 15th: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-5pm with longer rehearsals during the two weeks before the production. Some Saturday rehearsals may take place. A full calendar will be available before auditions.
