Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who work as part of a professional health care team. Concord Christian School is privileged to have an athletic trainer on site daily as part of a partnership with Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic.
Ciara Uphoff joined Concord Christian School in 2026 as a certified athletic trainer, bringing a passion for sports medicine and a genuine commitment to caring for student-athletes both on and off the field.
A native of Lenoir City, Tennessee, Ciara has called Tennessee home her entire life. She attended Union Commonwealth University in Barbourville, Kentucky, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2024 and a Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2025.
While Ciara enjoys every aspect of athletic training, her favorite part of the profession is the relationships she builds with athletes. She is grateful for the opportunity to support student-athletes through both their successes and challenges, making sure they know they always have someone in their corner. She also finds great fulfillment in helping athletes recover from injury, regain full function, and return to succeed in the sport(s) they love.
When she is not caring for student-athletes, Ciara enjoys going for runs, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops with her fiancé, and traveling to new places.
Ciara is excited to serve the CCS community and looks forward to supporting the health, well-being, and success of the Lions!
