A Letter From the Head of School
Dear CCS Families,
At Concord Christian School, our heart is to walk alongside you as we pursue our shared mission: to inspire students to follow Jesus by equipping them to serve, lead, and transform the world. It is a profound joy and privilege to partner with your family, and our team is deeply grateful for the trust you place in us. We want you to know that every dollar you invest in your child’s education is prayerfully and wisely stewarded to help shape their future and strengthen their ability to impact the world for Christ.
For the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, tuition and fees will reflect an average increase of 7.5%. In an effort to be fully transparent, 89% of this adjustment is specifically directed toward enhancing teacher and staff compensation. While the statewide Teacher Paycheck Protection Act does not directly mandate changes for private schools, its impact significantly influences the competitive landscape for recruiting talent. Therefore, in order to continue recruiting and retaining exceptional, Christ-centered educators, our leadership team remains committed to keeping our starting salaries competitive within the local public school system.
Our team remains committed to strengthening and expanding opportunities for students across all divisions. The remaining funds will support vital investments, including:
- Academic Innovation: Expanding our STEM curriculum with new offerings like Underwater Robotics (complementing our existing Lego Robotics program) and launching Computer Science alongside our Dual Enrollment Engineering pathway in the Upper School.
- Technology Investment: Sustaining our commitment to a 1:1 device program, despite a 40% increase in the cost of necessary devices like Chromebooks.
- Curriculum & Communication: Implementing new platforms and updated curriculum next year to create a smoother, more engaging, and effective experience for both students and families.
- Dual Degree Pathway: Formalizing an Associate’s Degree Pathway with Carson-Newman University, which will allow our students to graduate from Concord
Christian School having already earned an associate’s degree. - Transitional Kindergarten (TK): Launching a TK program to provide an intentional, preparatory experience for students who may not be fully ready for the traditional Kindergarten classroom but would benefit from an early opportunity to build foundational K-12 learning skills.
I also would like to remind your family of the timeline for the Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) program, which can significantly offset tuition costs for many families. Please note the following key dates:
- Returning Families: The reapplication window is open from December 9 through
January 30. - New Families: Applications will open on January 13.
More information and detailed assistance regarding the EFS application process will be sent to all families soon. The full tuition schedule for the 2026–2027 school year will be posted on our school website later today.
In closing, thank you, once again, for your faithful and invaluable partnership in the education of your children. Your continuous support, fervent prayers, and heartfelt encouragement mean more to our team than words can express. It is truly an honor and a blessing to serve your family as we pursue Christ-centered excellence and impact the world together.
With gratitude,
Brice Richards
