
HEATHER BALDY earned her bachelor of engineering degree from Vanderbilt University in the area of biomedical engineering with a second major in mathematics. She has been married to her husband Lacy for 26 years and they have three amazing gifts from God ranging in age from 14 to 19. Heather loves spending time with Jesus and her family especially if it can be done outside, on the lake or near the ocean. She also enjoys bird watching, gardening and constructing (and using) slip n slides down the hill in their front yard.

KARA CONNATSER is originally from a small town in south-central Kentucky but moved to Knoxville in 2013. She received an MA in history from Western Kentucky University and a BA in history from Lindsey Wilson College. In her free time, Mrs. Connatser enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering with Operation Christmas Child. She is married to Keith. They have a dog whose favorite activity is inactivity.

RACHEL DEANGELIS earned a B.S. in English Education at Florida State University where she met her husband of ten years, Justin. They traveled the world together, living in Zhejiang province in China for one year. They taught English to college students there, and they had the opportunity to travel to places like Shanghai, Beijing, South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. They are settled in Knoxville now with their two children, Jake (who is three years old) and Teddy (who is one-year old). Rachel also has an M.Ed. in reading education. With a degree in English and a degree in reading, you can probably gather that she loves to read and to share that love with her students! She also loves writing, and she is a regular contributor to the Knoxville Mom's Blog. She is excited to be joining the Concord staff this year!

TANYA FLETCHER has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from the State University of NY at Geneseo and a Master’s Degree in English as a Second Language Education from UT Knoxville. She taught in Knox County Schools and has been at CCS for the past 5 years, teaching English as well as assisting with the CCS International Program. She and her husband Cory have three daughters who attend CCS. Tanya enjoys the outdoors - gardening, hiking, and exploring America’s national parks.

BECKY FRASER graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in Art History

JOANNIE HAM earned her B.A. in Anthropology from Pennsylvania State University and her M.S. and PhD. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Illinois. She and her husband, Michael, have 3 daughters. Dr. Ham has many interests and is always looking to explore new things – places, food, music, blogs, campsites, books, crafts, and of course, scientific pursuits. She believes that “All Christians should be interested in science since the whole earth is full of His glory and discovering the creation means learning more about God.”

ANNA HAWKINS is teaching Middle School Chorus and High School Latin. She is a graduate of Bryan College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Church Music and Christian Education. She is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Language Studies.

CHRIS HAWKINS is teaching High School Apologetics and New Testament. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bryan College and a Masters of Arts Degree in Theological Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

HANNA KRUEGER is currently working towards a degree. She will be teaching photography part time.

ANTHONY LAMB has a B.S. in Secondary Education from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida and has held various teaching and administrative positions in Christian Education for 31 years. Anthony and Kimberly have been married for 31 years, and have served together in Christian education for 24 of their years together. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Selena (who has been in Christian education for 7 years) and Skylar (a real estate agent in Atlanta). Anthony enjoys athletics of all kinds, antiquing with his wife, and going to the movies. His newest passion is taking his 2-year-old granddaughter, Adelaide, to the mall and Waffle House.


TAMMY LIGHTHOLDER has a B.A. from Westminster College in Speech/Broadcasting and Religion. Her work began in the production of a live daily Christian television show in Pittsburgh. Ms. Lightholder then felt a calling to work with young people and has been teaching for 28 years. She is now one of the High School English Teachers.


MATT STEPHENS is a graduate of Carson-Newman University with his Bachelor’s of Music in Instrumental Music Education. Mr. Stephens also studied composition and jazz performance in his time at Carson-Newman. Along with teaching 5th-12th band Mr. Stephens also teaches Music History and conducts rehearsals with the Pride of the Den Pep Band. He has served as field technician and music teacher at several Knox County high schools including Karns High School, Hardin Valley Academy, South Doyle High School and Christian Academy of Knoxville. Matthew is the principal bass trombonist and serves as Assistant Conductor for the Oak Ridge Community Orchestra. He is excited to see the Fine Arts Department grow here at CCS with ensembles in the works including jazz band and the Pride of the Den Marching Band in the coming years! This is an exciting time for Fine Arts here at CCS!

LESLIE STEWART graduated from Vanderbilt University with a double major in mathematics and psychology, and from the University of Tennessee with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She has experience teaching both at the middle and high school levels, and has spent the last twenty years moving around the world with her family (four states, China, and Belgium). Ms. Stewart has two grown children, a son who graduated from Samford University in 2016, and a daughter who is a sophomore at UT. In her spare time, Ms. Stewart enjoys traveling, spending time with her children, and tutoring (mathematics through Algebra 2 and ACT prep).

MARY TERRY will be teaching High School English. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina and a Master of Arts Degree in English from the University of Tennessee.

REBECCA VANDEMARK is teaching High School Government, Economics and Personal Finance. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Cedarville University and a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration from Regent University School of Government.

ELAINE WALKER receiver her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Political Science and her Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She began her teaching career at the Christian Academy of Knoxville and then transitioned to homeschooling her children, while concurrently serving as an administrator and an instructor for the Blount Home Education Association. Mrs. Walker enjoys hiking, traveling, and knitting, and is learning to appreciate running. She is always game for sharing new and unexpected adventures with her husband David and her three young adult children and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Walker is looking forward to teaching math this year at Concord.

CHRISTI WATSON received her BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She has performed all over the country as an actor/singer, including Off-Broadway. Christi also performs locally with The Wordplayers. Recently she was featured at The Bijou in The Wordplayers production of "The Spitfire Grill."

KEVIN WINSLETT grew up in West Knoxville and earned an undergraduate degree in History along with a Masters in Education from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. This is his 15th year as a high school teacher and athletics coach.

SONYA WRIGHT earned her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Hyles-Anderson College. Mrs. Wright is certified through ACSI in Spanish, Business and Home Economics. As a missionary kid in Mexico, she fell in love with the Latin American culture and the Spanish language. She and her husband, Pete, served for eleven years as missionaries with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism. They lived in Santiago, Chile. Mrs. Wright loves music and has been singing since she was a little girl. She is involved with the Worship Ministry at her church.
