SELENA ALEXANDER has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia. She has been teaching in private school education for 7 years. Tyler and Selena were married 7 years ago and have a two-year-old daughter named Adelaide. The Alexanders are partners at Shoreline Church. She and her family enjoy working on home improvement and spending time with family. Selena is thrilled and grateful to be a part of the Concord community.
JENNIFER ALFORD has been teaching at CCS for over fifteen years. She has a BS from the University of Tennessee in Education 1st-8th. She and her husband have seven children (four still at home who attend CCS), and one granddaughter. They are also involved in mission work in the Central American country of Nicaragua. Mrs. Alford is a member of Shoreline Church and is passionate about teaching Science and reaching the lost for Christ locally as well as around the world.
GINA ANDERSON has a Master's Degree in Education from Regent University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Lee University. She was born and raised in Knoxville but lived in many locations when her husband, Ian, was in the Army. They settled in Knoxville in 2010 with their two daughters, Ashley & Emily, who attend CCS. She is a member of Fellowship Church and has always been active in ministry. She enjoys organizing, yearly beach trips, and spending time with her family and her dog, Tucker.
DEEDEE BURNETTE has a Master's Degree in Education from Carson Newman College and a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing from Tusculum College. She and her husband, Travis, have two children that attend CCS. She enjoys traveling, hiking, deep-sea fishing, and camping with her family.
TANYA FLETCHER has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from the State University of NY at Geneseo and a Master’s Degree in English as a Second Language Education from UT Knoxville. She taught in Knox County Schools and has been at CCS for the past 5 years, teaching English as well as assisting with the CCS International Program. She and her husband Cory have three daughters who attend CCS. Tanya enjoys the outdoors - gardening, hiking, and exploring America’s national parks.
ANNA HAWKINS is teaching Middle School Chorus and High School Latin. She is a graduate of Bryan College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Church Music and Christian Education. She is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Language Studies.
ANTHONY LAMB has a B.S. in Secondary Education from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida and has held various teaching and administrative positions in Christian Education for 31 years. Anthony and Kimberly have been married for 31 years, and have served together in Christian education for 24 of their years together. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Selena (who has been in Christian education for 7 years) and Skylar (a real estate agent in Atlanta). Anthony enjoys athletics of all kinds, antiquing with his wife, and going to the movies. His newest passion is taking his 2-year-old granddaughter, Adelaide, to the mall and Waffle House.
BRANDON MCBATH is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors in Studio Art and Art History Minor. He enjoys working with young people and is currently completing his summer at Centrifuge Camps. He has led backpacking and camping expeditions in California throughout this summer. Brandon's goal in life is to "affect the world for Jesus Christ with his art." He looks forward to combining his passion for art, his love for the Lord, and his enjoyment of young people as the Middle School Art teacher.
ANGIE PIFER has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, TN.
She and her husband, Nathan, have two married sons and two precious grandchildren. Angie enjoys gardening, hiking and time with her family when not at work.
NATALIE RENFROE has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and International affairs from Florida State University as well as Master of Education from the University of Tennessee. During her time at UT she served as a graduate assistant for the Pride of Southland Band and was a guest conductor for the University of Tennessee concert ensemble. Natalie enjoys playing with a variety of musical theater and ministry groups in the Knoxville area and has served as Principle horn for Akademie Ved Orchestra in Prague, Czech Republic. Natalie's favorite activities are teaching piano and horn lessons as well as traveling and ministering overseas with her husband and three children.
LAURA ROSE is a graduate of Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She also earned a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee Technological University. In her free time, she loves to travel, read, cross-stitch, and play water sports.
SARAH STARKEY has her BA from the University of Tennessee, majoring in Psychology. She also holds a Paralegal Degree from NCPT in Atlanta, GA. She comes to CCS with 13 years in the education field working with grades K-12. She has been involved in Administration and Classroom Teaching over those 13 years. Some areas of emphasis include Math, Psychology, and Community Service. She has 2 children that attend CCS and enjoys time with her family, reading and traveling.
JOHN VANDENHURK, originally from Holland, graduated from Florida Bible College with a degree in Biblical Education, and a degree in photojournalism from Defense Information School. He worked as an Air Force photojournalist, stationed at Offutt AFB, Neb., and worked several years as a writer and copy editor for newspapers in Nebraska, Florida, and Tennessee. He has taught at Christian schools for 23 years, 15 of which have been at CCS. Mr. VandenHurk and his wife, Kay, have four children and four grandchildren. He enjoys hiking, jogging, camping, and traveling.
HOLLY ZACHARY is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Master of Education Degree also from UTK. She taught for 5 years at Lenoir City Elementary School before she became a full-time mom to her son, Tyson. Holly is passionate about teaching God’s Word; while she took time off from teaching, she helped lead the mom2mom ministry at FBC and facilitated several women’s Bible studies. The joy of her life, though, has been the opportunities she has had to teach children through the ministries of FBC and watch them fall in love with God and His Word. Holly and her husband of 17 years, Jason, have seen God move in mighty ways in their lives and hope to always be obedient to His call...whether big or small!
